The Insurance School of Chicago
For more than 40 years,
The Insurance School of Chicago ("ISC") has been a key contributor to
the Chicago area insurance and risk management community. Through
semester classes for those seeking to earn professional designations and, in
more recent years, through pre-licensing and continuing education seminars, ISC
has played a significant role in the lives of thousands of insurance and risk
management professionals.
Unfortunately, this long and productive history is drawing to a
close. ISC will continue to support its Spring Semester classes and
certain other special projects. But the ISC office at 330 South Wells
Street, Suite 300 in Chicago will close May 13, 2011. No further public
classes, seminars, workshops, or pre-licensing classes will be offered after
that date.
All of us -- the ISC Board, instructors and course leaders, seminar
and pre-licensing speakers, and staff -- have enjoyed our partnership with the
industry's dedicated "lifelong learners." We wish you all well
in your future educational endeavors. And if you have specific questions
or need advice on future education plans, please don't hesitate to contact Mary
Carroll at 312-427-2520, x12 through May 13 or at 773-793-2694 thereafter.

The Insurance School of Chicago
The
Insurance School of Chicago (ISC) was established in 1969 by the Insurance
Society of Chicago. ISC provides quality education through several different
approaches, including interactive classes and
seminars
and self-study
materials.
ISC’s
cornerstone is the designation programs developed by the American Institute for
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (AICPCU) and the Insurance Institute
of America (IIA). The CPCU/IIA designations are recognized by all major
employers as the sign of individuals who care about their craft and are willing
to work hard to achieve the skills needed.
In
addition to CPCU and IIA
classes, ISC provides seminars
for those who wish to stay current with focused information on relevant
industry topics. Our content experts
develop their own seminar material based on their particular areas of
expertise. In-house training programs based on either our class or seminar
curricula can be tailored to your company’s particular needs.
All
classes and seminars are filed with the Illinois Department of Insurance and
are eligible for the continuing education credit necessary for annual renewal
of an Illinois Insurance Producer’s license. In addition, 12-hour
home-study courses are available from ISC.
ISC offers
pre-licensing classes
for those preparing to take the Illinois Insurance Producer’s license exam. In
addition, ISC operates a limited bookstore
operation offering textbooks produced through the Institutes, as well as
various self-help study tools.
We hope you will choose ISC as your source for insurance education.
